1973 JCB

We have owned this backhoe for many years, the last 15 of which it was parked in the bush, running when parked. 4 years ago I tried to get it running, the engine was seized. We poured a can of WD40 in each cylinder and left it for a year. A year later I came back and pulled the head off of it, and with another couple cans of WD40, I was able to tap the piston down, and then move it back up from the bottom, just a little bit at a time. About 3 hours of tapping, spraying, and prying, the cylinder moved enough we could do a rough hone of the cylinder and put it all back together. It has now run for many projects including hydrant lines, general landscaping and stump removal.
