Refurbish your car headlights

Refurbish your car headlights

This is a trick my Dad taught me years ago and it has saved me a lot of money over the years!! When your vehicle headlight covers get cloudy and discoloured, even to the point of being hard to see the light through them at night…WD-40 Multi-Use does the trick! Simply spray the product on the headlamp covers, let sit for 10 minutes and then wipe off (giving it a bit of a circular motion scrub) with your paper towel). You can then polish off with a microfibre cloth, or just leave it like that! Don’t worry if the product gets on your grill or paint…in fact, if you have bugs on the front, give the bumper and grill a sprits and wipe it off too after the 10 minutes before you take it to the car wash!! Videos and before/after photos of my 2011 Toyota Venza and 2004 Toyota Echo Headlights (original to both vehicles) posted below! I do this every spring on my vehicles and it lasts all year!! Thanks for checking it out and I hope you find this as useful a tip as I did!! 😊

Step 1

Just give the headlights (and maybe your bumper/grill) a generous spritz of WD-40 Multi-Use Product, then let it sit for about 10 minutes.

Step 2

Just repeating the 1st step on my older vehicle (with headlights in worse condition) to show how well this works!!

Step 3

Just wipe the product off (using a circular motion) with a paper towel. You can then polish with a microfibre cloth afterwards or stop there. If you sprayed the grill, bumper, gently rub in a circular motion with your finger before wiping then wash car! *Optional - if this is the first time ever doing your headlights, you can repeat steps 1-3 to achieve desired result. The first time I did my 2004, I did repeat twice!
